Tym Lyn

A new blogger challenge going around is the Time Travelers' Blogger Challenge! This was suggested by Alicia Chenaux & Sophia Harlow. Now my posting for this does not entail my being a blogger in any form or fashion..... I still believe myself to be a non-Blogger. I am a Blog Commenter and know my role well. However, Tymmerie did one for this and it looked like fun :-P

Now the time I picked...may or may not be a real time. Opinions differ. I have chosen an early period in European history were fairy folk were said to roam the woods of Carterhaugh. Legend even had it that the Queen of Faeries could capture an unsuspecting male and enchant him. After seven years the unlucky person being offered up as a tithe to hell on Halloween night. Now I am not quite sure what that means...but it can't be good. You know, come to think of it, our old neighbors in Wonderful Land use to offer those hell tithey things all the time.... Yep, do not want any part of that!

I also know that if I were able to travel to this time, and do my normal exploring, I would surely be captured. While I know it might be fun running around the woods with my faeries friends skipping and jumping, being happy and gay.... (in a strictly manly way I assure you!)... it would be bound to get old after a while. And then there would be that whole 7 year, time to be sacrificed, thing to worry about. Talk about stress!

But I also know that fate would be on my side and let the lovely Tymmerie enter my life again. She would find me and save me for our love knows no bounds!

Tym Has Saved Me

As it would look at midnight on Halloween

The song for all this of course is Tam Lin as done by Fairport Convention. I have always liked their rendition and thought it would be great to make a music video to it. Hmm, I guess if you don't think that faeries really existed, so I could not have traveled to such a time and place... then just say Tym and I dropped some magic mushrooms and had some fun in the woods during the 1960's instead ;-)

Gotta Love Thursdays

Two weeks ago Tymmerie posted a blog about what makes her happy in her SLife. This was inspired by Alicia Chenaux's post, based on a suggestion made by Strawberry Singh, for us to remember all of the things we love or are good and positive in our lives and post about them in our blogs. Alicia calls this Love Thursdays.

Ok, it took me one year to do my first blog...so two weeks really isn't bad.... So here is my post.

Like Tymmerie has done, I will start with my biggest 'happy' of all: my true love... Nik Kershaw (see my comment)

Opps, I meant to say my absolutely wonderful wife Tymmerie Thorne-Darwin.

She makes me happier than I ever thought possible. We are there for each other and share in everything. There is nothing I like better than spending time with Tym exploring, partying, building or sitting on the sofa talking. And of course continuing our never ending Honeymoon :-)

My picture is from a recent day exploring. We found a nice spot to sit and enjoy the sunset. Thank you for coming into my life...and thank you for being my wife. I love you!

16 Random Things About Me You May Not Know, Nor Ever Wanted To Know

Well this is my attempt to answer the "16 Things" challenge going around. I have no ideas what the rules are. I just patterned my answers based on Tymmerie's posting. I would have left this as a comment to her blog, but it was getting a bit long. But I am still NOT a blogger!

Without further adieu here are 16 facts about myself in SL:

1. I have man hands. I think I am suppose to. I wonder if I can beat my wife arm wrestling now? (Note: you may want to read Tym's blog first)

2. I use to sleep on beaches belonging to others when I started with SL. I loved when I would find a hammock or hot tub out in the open. I just didn't get where people would actually pay money for land..... I now pay for a sims worth *sigh*

3. I have an office at my home in Ghambt that I rarely use. Well I built it to help me with my SLumlord business. I guess if I had actually started a SLumload business I would then actually use the office.

4. I love that my wife tracks her half-rez days. Hey, I love any chance to throw a party!

5. I use to fly around the grid and look for clusters of dots. I would then drop in to see what was going on. I found a lot of casinos and sex clubs that way!. Good times... Oh, pay no attention to that fact that my rez day is four month after all the casino's were shut down. It is a typo I think.

6. I want to open a few little shops in some cottages down by our boardwalk. I am afraid all my other projects will keep me from doing this.

7. One of the many reasons that I rarely wear prim eyelashes is that I have a huge fear that they will not rez for people and I will just have big gray rectangles above and below my eyes. That and I am a guy.... Oppps, I was cutting and pasting my wife's answers so I would have a template :-)

8. I have a millions copies of a million projects I have attempted in SL. I really need to clear most of it out. That and my binge buying that I occasionally partake in. Yet somehow my wife inventory is much larger. Something about shoes I think :-P

9. I once had a horse. Sadly it could not be transferred...

10. More often than not I have a default noobish animation for my walk etc. I do have a very uber kewl animation that I sometimes use. But then I see myself strutting to pick up the morning paper, or take out the trash, and I say, well enough of that. I suppose I am also afraid a potential Starting Point resident will be intimidated if I walked up to them like that. The woman will think I might forcibly throw them on a pose ball, and the men...well maybe they would think the same thing too - lol. I am sure the RL press is full of stories like that.

11. I like to freshen my wife's coffee cup on her desk. That way it is always warm and steamy for her :-)

12. I have so many noobish items in my inventory it is frighting. Seems like every time I started an av in SL I had to go around picking up freebies. Hmm, did I just say that. Why on Earth did I think I needed it all I will never know (objects and accounts..).

13. I always like to save money and get the full pack of whatever I am buying. So even though I have had the same hair color 99% of the time, there is still that 1%. And doesn't everyone need 30 color variations for their SL toilets with the realistic flush sounds?

14. I love to dress appropriately for whatever I am doing in SL. If I am building I like to wear my construction outfit. If I am underwater I like to have a scuba set up on. And if I am enjoying my year long honey moon, I like to not be wearing my black boxers...

15. During my time in SL I have made my share of mistakes and learned many lessons... I think it was all necessary for me to be where I am today. I love the life I have and everything about it. I particularly love being married to Tymmerie Thorne and sharing it all with her :-))

I can't find a handy RL picture. I supose I may look something like one of these....

16. I too love the magic of Second Life!!

My 1 Resolution and 1 Prediction

This is really just just another long rambling comment to one of Tymmerie Thorne's blogs...

Well my New Years resolution seems to have been not to comment on any one's blog! It is not that I have stopped reading them. I still do. Especially those of the lovely and talented Tymmerie. Have I mentioned that she is my wife :-) I am sure I normally comment way too much on Tym's blog. And people might be enjoying the break. I also tend to ramble on quite a bit when I am commenting... hmm what was I commenting on this time....

Oh yes, I think I hurt myself with my last comment. It led me to put words down on that blog thingy with my name on it. Note: I still claim I am NOT a Blogger. Well unless I am trying to get into a kewl blogger party. I am a Commenter and proud of it! I was a Plurker too, but I am a little ashamed of my excesses in that area for a while. Anyone need a slightly used dancing banana suit? One really should not sell their soul for Karma. hmm....

Anyway, my 1 resolution and 1 prediction.

I really should turn my SLound on more. I usually only do after noticing people around me moving in strange rhythmic patterns for about 10 minutes before I realize they are dancing and there is most likely music to go with it. That, or I am in a sex club. Sometimes the only way to verify which, is if I can hear music. Now if it is raunchy p0rn music, it can be impossible to tell. Also, I can not base any conclusions by what people are, or are not, wearing. There have been people just wearing thongs at some dances I have been to....

Oh wait, I was suppose to be writing about a resolution. My resolution is to actually finish all the build projects that I start. Particularly if they involve rental properties. I am working on my sixth attempt and really have very little to show to date. Darn SL always distracting me with eye candy and people moving in strange rhythmic patterns....

Oh honey, I am working on a prim head. So far it looks like a block of prim wood. I will get back to it... any day now....

Now my prediction. I think the Lindens will get wise to what Tymmerie and I are doing with the Starting Point and will start offering a similar option to the new people that sign up to SL. If their goal is to keep people I think it would do wonders. I would write more on this idea, and a few others I have for Linden Labs, if only I had some kind of tool to post thoughts and ideas. Somewhere to share what I am thinking with others that also "play" SL. Once I find such I thingy I will let you know....

RE: A little meme about my little routine...

This started as a comment to my wife's blog A little meme about my little routine... Which was a meme answer to Laleeta Xue's question about what our starting routine is. As my comment was getting a little long winded, I thought I should put it on this blog thingy I have.

When I log in for the first time it is usually at lunch and I am already dressed. Many a time I would normally log in nude, as my wife and I will have just finished...ah..doing laundry the night before ;-) But I usually try to get dressed before logging out. I have a weird paranoia that a co-worker will walk up to me at lunch, and see me staring at a rezing nude male avatar and wonder about my sexuality - lol. Not that they don't wonder about me as it is. It is just that SL can be a hard thing to explain to the uninitiated. You do what in there?? Sorry, I am getting off track.

Anyway, there I am dressed from the night before. I usually have a number of tasks in mind for that lunch hour. I rarely socialize when I am in over lunch. Hey it's me, not you! Often I do not even look at my friends list...I just get right to building..or fixing something. Oh, one important thing is to check my messages for something new from my wife. I like to stay on top of my "honey-do" list if I can :-) Once in a rare while we get to be in over lunch together! Occasionally on a slow day at work I can pop in again briefly before heading home. I usually build a little or shop at this time. Sometimes I will IM friends.

Next time I log in will be in the evening. Often I am eating my dinner in RL and trying to keep crumbs off the keyboard - lol. The FIRST thing I do is check to see if my wonderful wife is online. Odds are she is :-) But I still get a thrill seeing her name in bold on my friends list. My heart starts racing, and I...oh sorry, getting off track again. While the routine varies night to night, we always have a great time. We love to talk, build, work on the Starting Point, our house, grounds, and condos, go explore, shop, visit friends and go to parties. But most of all be horny newlyweds :-0

One last thing. Why do people use pose stands? Once you click edit on an object, that you are wearing, your av freezes the same as being on a stand. Sure it can be a little bit of a challenge to click on a ring on a moving hand to edit it... but that is part of the fun in life :-)

What a Long Strange Trip It's Been

Well my friends and strangers, a year has come and gone and I am still in Second Life! Who would have thought that was possible? My whole time in Second Life has been quite an adventure. I have been surprised at so many things I have seen and done. I feel that I have met some exceptional people. Many of whom I am proud to call friends. Our world is incredibly rich and complex. I never dreamed that it would be so amazing...and addictive :-)

Back in January I thought I should blog about it all. Thus this site was created. Oh, I had lots of ideas for funny blogs about the whole orientation process, and what we all go through in creating our look etc. My plan was to show readers how my life would change and evolve. Initially I thought I should be a Player/Fetish Photographer.

But I had a problem. It was not so much that I didn't know how to write about my SLife. Give me any topic and crazy ideas shoot out of my head - lol. It was that I LOVE to write. I have written many things in RL. Once I get started I don't stop. I also tend to over do it. Why do a short paragraph when I can write a page! Why do one picture when I can do three!!! However, with my life as Jerremy I had set limits. Basically, my total time for all things SL would be limited. That can be very hard to do. And I knew blog writing would be a challenge to fit in.

Interestingly enough, I started dating a young lady back in January as well. You know, your typical SL super model, reporter, blogger, builder who liked to wear silks. She was great. Even encouraged me to start a blog ;-) But I soon realized. Given the set time limits that I have, I wanted to spend all my time with her! And for those times that I was not with her.... well... I had another "secret" love in SL......

I....I....I am a prim-oholic! There. I said it. I like to build. Even do it in my sleep I think. Over this year in SL I have built well over one sims worth of wonderful and exciting prim stuff and thingy-a-ma-bobs. Many only seen by me - lol.

In addition I have found that I like to hang out with friends. Especially those that tolerate or even laugh at my jokes. Ok, groaning and rolling of the eyes is attention too, and I feed off that. I like to go to parties and meet new people (since I tend to scare off some of the older ones). I particularly like costume parties as I often get to build something for it. And I can cleverly disguise myself.

I have learned quite a bit in my life in SL. A lot about others and mostly about myself. I admit that I am not proud of everything that I have done in SL. Though I have always meant well. Things do not always go the way one plans. I am fortunate that I only have one enemy that I know of. This person has many, so draw your own conclusions. And the nice thing is they have never met Jerremy (draw your own conclusions about that too).

After a while of "playing" SL, I discovered that as much fun and addictive as SL was - it was not worth the sacrifices to ones RL. Sleep and a gainful employment are good things! Who would have thunk it. When I first started in SL I would often stay up late exploring and frequenting places I never go to anymore ;-) The more I was in, the more I wanted to stay in. Things were getting out of hand. I think all serious SL'ers reach a point where they must find a good mix between RL and SL. It took some doing, and caused a bit of pain and drama, but I was able to change my SLife to better fit in with my RL. So now I am still gainfully employed and I actually do sleep again. A bonus is that my RL friends and family know who I am now too.

The one thing I am most thankful for in my life, is having met my wife Tymmerie Thorne-Darwin. Though technically not a true noob when we met, she helped me out a lot. I really never had done orientation or spent a lot of time on my look. I was so glad for her assistance and a real and true genuine friendship occurred. In time that grew to be much, much more. One nice thing was she could live with my SL schedule and time limits. Her laughing at my odd sense of humor sealed the deal. So I stopped running from different things and have successfully made a life for myself in second life. An Absolutely Wonderful one :-P

So thank you honey, for making this SLife worth living. I love you.

Well I have done it. I have written my first blog entry. And in the spirit of Seinfeld, it is a blog about nothing in particular. My hat is off to all of you real bloggers out there. It really is hard work! Many of you educate, inform and amuse us in the most creative ways. The rest of you, I just don't know what the heck you are doing - lol.

But hey don't give up on me! Stay tuned!! I am sure I will write another one.... in a year :-p
